For Consumer Goods & Retail

The AI Decision Intelligence Platform for Consumer Goods & Retail

Higher forecast accuracy. Leaner inventory. Stronger margins. We help planning, supply chain and commercial teams make faster, better decisions every week — and we quantify the impact of each one before you act on it.

We don't replace SAP, Oracle, or Dynamics 365. We make them smarter.

The metrics we're scoped against

Six numbers your board already reviews.

Forecast accuracy is a means, not an end. Every engagement is baselined against your own operating metrics before work begins, so improvement is measured in your terms.

+5–15 pts

Forecast Accuracy

Measured at the SKU–location–week grain planners actually order on, tracked alongside bias.

+10–25%

Inventory Turns

Same or better availability on materially less stock across the distribution network.

−10–30%

Working Capital

Cash released from excess, duplicated and slow-moving inventory.

+50–200 bps

Gross Margin

Pricing, pack and markdown decisions driven by measured elasticity.

+2–5 pts

Service Levels

Fewer stockouts on the SKU–location pairs that carry your revenue.

+10–20%

Promotion ROI

Incremental uplift separated from cannibalisation and pull-forward.

Illustrative ranges. These are the target bands we use to scope engagements, drawn from typical improvements reported across Consumer Goods and Retail planning programmes. They are not results from a specific PBI Analytics client. Your own baseline and targets are agreed during the assessment.

Who this is for

Built for enterprise planning teams, not every company with data.

This platform earns its return where planning complexity is real and someone owns the outcome. If that isn't you yet, we would rather say so early.

Designed for Consumer Goods & Retail organizations that:

  • Operate SAP, Dynamics 365, Oracle or a comparable enterprise ERP
  • Manage 500+ SKUs across multiple locations — the forecasting workload is SKU × location, so a few hundred products across dozens of sites is already tens of thousands of decisions a week
  • Run multiple warehouses or distribution centres, where stock can be rebalanced rather than only reordered
  • Have dedicated planning and supply chain teams who can act on a recommendation
  • Hold two or more years of sales history with promotions, price changes and stockouts recorded
  • Have an executive who owns forecast accuracy, inventory performance or margin

Probably not a fit if:

  • There is no planning function to receive and act on recommendations
  • Promotion and stockout history is not recorded, so past demand can't be reconstructed
  • You want to replace an existing planning suite end to end
  • You need a packaged tool live in a few weeks with no data work

The platform

The PBI Decision Intelligence Platform

Four modules on one governed data foundation. Start with any module, in one category or one region, and extend across the platform as the results hold up — each module you add costs a fraction of the first because the foundation is already in place.

Decision layer · works across all modules

AI Planning Copilot

Ask questions in plain language. Receive explained recommendations with quantified operational and financial impact.

Module 01

Demand Intelligence

Predict what the market will buy — by product, location, customer and channel.

Most common entry point

Module 02

Supply Chain Intelligence

Balance service levels, inventory and operational efficiency with optimization models.

Usually follows Demand

Module 03

Revenue Growth Intelligence

Optimize pricing, pack, promotion, assortment and trade investment for profitable growth.

Can start independently

Foundation · every module runs on this

Enterprise Data Foundation

One governed model of demand, supply, cost and price — connecting ERP, CRM, supply chain, finance and operational systems.

There is no fixed sequence. Inventory optimization depends on trusted forecasts, so Demand → Supply Chain is the most common path. Revenue Growth Intelligence can run in parallel or first, depending on where your margin pressure sits.

Deployed in your environment

Models, pipelines and semantic layers run inside your own cloud tenant. Your data never leaves it.

You own what we build

No proprietary black box and no vendor lock-in. Your team can inspect, extend and operate everything we deliver.

Accelerated, not bespoke

Every engagement is built from proven platform components rather than starting from a blank page — shorter timelines, lower risk.

Platform modules

Three intelligence modules, adopted individually or together.

Business outcome first, then the capabilities that produce it.

Module 01

Module 04 · AI Planning Copilot

Give every planner an intelligent assistant.

Instead of searching through reports, planners ask questions and receive contextual, explainable recommendations — with the financial consequence attached.

Monday morning · inventory review Illustrative example
Planner

Why is inventory increasing?

AI Planning Copilot
Supplier deliveries arrived early while sales ran below forecast. Both effects landed on the same distribution centre in the same week, adding roughly 11 days of extra cover on 14 affected SKUs.
Question 1 of 3
What the copilot does
  1. Analyzes enterprise dataReads across ERP, sales, inventory, purchasing, pricing and external signals.
  2. Explains business driversIdentifies what changed and why, traced back to the records it read.
  3. Recommends actionsProposes the specific change — quantity, timing, supplier, price or promotion.
  4. Quantifies impactPuts an operational and financial number against every recommendation.

Recommendations arrive as drafts for review. Nothing reaches your ERP until a planner approves it.

Enterprise data foundation

Every module is powered by a trusted enterprise data foundation.

We design and implement the enterprise data platform that connects ERP, CRM, supply chain, finance and operational systems into a single governed foundation for analytics and AI — the layer most planning programmes underestimate and then stall on.

Built on Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI and Power BI, inside your own tenant.

How engagements start

One category, one measurable result, then scale.

We would rather prove the number on a narrow scope than sell a platform on a slide.

Planning & data assessment

We review your demand history, master data, ERP integration and current planning process, then agree the baseline metrics we will be measured on.

You receiveA data readiness assessment and an agreed metric baseline.

Pilot on one category

A working module on a single category or region, running alongside your existing process so the comparison is real rather than theoretical.

You receiveA live module and a scorecard against the baseline.

Scale and operate

Extend across categories and modules on the shared foundation, with monitoring, retraining and support handled by our managed service.

You receiveERP write-back design and an operating handover to your team.

Frequently asked questions

What planning teams ask us first.

We already run SAP IBP, Blue Yonder or o9. Where do you fit?
Alongside them. Established planning suites hold your planning process and master data. We add the intelligence layer on top — better forecasts, optimization against your constraints, and a copilot across the whole estate. Clients typically bring us in where the incumbent suite is slow to change or expensive to extend.
Is this a product we license, or a project?
The platform is our architecture; the delivery model is consulting and implementation. Models, pipelines and semantic layers are deployed inside your own cloud environment and you own what we build — so no data leaves your tenant, and no lock-in if you later change direction.
How much history do we need before forecasting is worth doing?
Two to three years at the grain you order on is comfortable; 18 months is usually workable. What matters more than length is whether promotions, price changes and stockouts are recorded — without them a model learns from a demand signal that was never real demand. The assessment tells you where you stand before you commit.
Will the AI make purchasing decisions without us?
Not unless you explicitly decide it should, for scopes you define. The default is human-in-the-loop: the copilot drafts the change, shows the reasoning and impact, and a planner approves before anything reaches the ERP.
Which module should we start with?
Demand, then Supply Chain, in most cases — inventory optimization depends directly on the forecast and produces the clearest working-capital result. Revenue Growth Intelligence can start independently if margin or trade spend is where your pressure sits.
Do you work as a white-label partner?
Yes. We already deliver on a white-label basis for consultancies and system integrators, and can operate under your brand and delivery process.
